Fall 2015 Community Education Programs
Beginning Dog Obedience Level I
Handlers will teach their dog the beginning basic obedience commands; dogs will learn to heel by their side, to sit on command, to down on command, to stand for exam and to come on command. Participants will also work on basic household obedience exercises and socialization. Dogs must be current on vaccines. On the first night of class, please bring your dog’s shot record and your dog.
Tuesdays, 9/29/15 to 11/3/15 (6 weeks), 6-7 p.m. or 7-8 p.m.

Healthy Living by Hollie
Wellness Classes to Build a Healthier You!
Healthy Living classes are designed to provide you with better health, improved energy and immune system, body fat loss, better sleep, and stable blood sugar to name a few. You will learn a 300/500 calorie meal plan, hand eye method, anti-inflammatory food pyramid, smart exercise, meditation, breathing, yoga, how to create a smart kitchen, cooking and grocery shopping tips and so much more. Participants will receive a class workbook that includes a meal plan with recipes. Live Better…Live Longer!

Shallow water aerobics is a fun, low impact class that gets you moving! This workout will get your heart pumping, tone and build muscle, and increase flexibility. Class is open to adults, senior citizens, high school students and middle school students, if accompanied by an adult. Non-swimmers are welcome.
Mondays and Thursdays, 9/21/15 to 12/17/15 (21 classes total), 6-7 p.m.
No class on 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 11/9, 11/26

$50 registration fee, $25 for 11 classes, $3 per walk-in
Lap swimming is open to all community members and takes place in the Owosso High School pool.

No lap swim on 10/27, 10/29, 11/26
The cost is $2 per visit and is paid at the pool. Pre-registration is not required. In the event that school is closed due to weather or for a holiday, lap swim will not be held.
Openswim is open to all community members and takes place in the Owosso High School pool.

Saturdays, 10/3/15 to 12/12/15, 10 a.m. -12 p.m.
No open swim on 11/28
The cost is $2 per person per visit or $5 per family per visit and is paid at the pool. Pre-registration is not required. In the event that school is closed due to weather or for a holiday, open swim will not be held.
Registration forms must be received a minimum of five days prior to the start of the class unless stated otherwise. A link to the registration form is below.
Registrations are not confirmed. You will be contacted ONLY in the event of a time change, date change or class cancellation.
In the event that school is closed due to inclement weather, Community Education programs will be cancelled. Programs will be rescheduled as time permits. Local radio and television stations will feature school closings, along with the OPS Weather Line at 989-725-1227, the district website and Facebook page.
Cancellations are sometimes necessary. Programs depend upon paid registrations. Offerings may be cancelled due to low enrollment. If cancellations are made, registrants will be notified and a full refund will be issued. Due to many late registrations we do not cancel a class until the evening prior to the start of the class. Please provide all phone numbers necessary to reach you in the event of a cancellation. To avoid cancellations, bring a friend or family member and register early.
A full refund will be made if:
Community Education cancels the class
Class fills before your registration is received
NO REFUNDS if you cancel on the day the class begins.
NO REFUNDS will be made after the class has started, regardless of attendance.
Owosso Public Schools reserves the right to photograph classes and program participants for promotional purposes.
